Versailles is forty minutes from Paris, but the day fills up fast: the palace alone takes two to three hours, and Marie-Antoinette's estate — Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon, the Queen's Hamlet — is two kilometres away on foot through the park. Does the driver stay with us all day?
Yes. The vehicle and driver are reserved for you for the whole stated duration: he waits during each visit, keeps your things in the boot and picks you up at the exit. You have no timetable to keep and no parking to find. If you want to stay an hour longer somewhere and shorten the next stop, that is decided on the spot.
Are admission tickets included?
No, and that is deliberate: you stay free to choose what you visit and not to pay for a site you would rather see from outside. For busy places — Versailles, Mont-Saint-Michel, a Champagne cellar — book your tickets online in advance, it saves you the queue. Meals are not included either; the driver can suggest somewhere if he knows the area.
Can the day's programme be changed?
Yes, both before and during. The suggested stops are a tried-and-tested route, not an obligation: you can drop one, add another nearby, or simply spend longer where you are enjoying yourself. Mention it when booking if the change alters the distance significantly, because the price depends on it; a few kilometres either way does not change the agreed amount.
